Barberton Facts
Barberton was founded in 1891 by O.C. Barber who saw the area as an ideal place to build a manufacturing Mecca. Lake Anna, a spring fed lake in the middle of town was named after Barber’s daughter. Barberton was nicknamed the Magic City because it grew so fast between 1891 and 1893.
