Door to Door
“Don’t run” At the onset of this campaign I was warned by the Democratic Party establishment that the big money people who were supporting my opponent would spend anywhere from $300,000 to $400,000 to stop me.
Given that First Energy Corp alone, through its PAC, employees, and even the CEO's wife, gave him $50,500 in 2008, I had no reason to doubt them. Their advice to me was, “Don’t run”.
I won’t back down As you know, I decided not to back down but I realized on that cold September day that my life savings of $12,000 wasn’t going to match up well. I decided our only chance was to do something they said couldn’t be done: go door to door throughout the entire state house district. Keep in mind, this district includes Barberton, Kenmore, Goodyear Heights, Firestone Park, and Ellet.

Make a Plan So I got out my pen and paper and started ciphering (that’s what they call it in Alabama). According to my calculations on that day, I figured it would be humanly possible to get to about 20,000 doors over the course of seven months before the May election. If we could do that through the cold and the snow, and if the people we’re kind, maybe, just maybe we’d have a chance.
With your help As I’m writing this today, January 15, I’m proud to announce that we have knocked on over 11,000 voter doors! The people have been encouraging and although I managed to fall into a ditch and break my pinky last week, I can still hold my clip board! I want to thank you all for your words of kindness out there and I promise you, I will not let up.

We can make a difference If you believe as I believe that our government has lost its way and left us holding the bag, please tell two friends and ask them to support us by putting a sign in their yard. Please understand that this campaign is based almost entirely on hard work and word of mouth. We can do the impossible and beat the big money but we need your help. Please contact us today to find out how.
